  • Every 2 seconds someone needs blood.  A single shock-trauma victim can use 100 units of blood in just a few hours.  A person being treated for cancer may use up to 10 units of platelets per day, and a liver transplant can use up to 160 units of components.
  • Your donation can help as many as 3 critically ill people (blood donations are broken down into red cells, platelets, and plasma).
